The City of Oak Hill operates two wastewater treatment and collection facilities that serve the community by safely managing and treating wastewater. These facilities are maintained and operated by trained staff to ensure reliable service and environmental compliance.
The City’s wastewater operations include the Minden Plant and the Route 61 Plant, each playing a critical role in the collection and treatment process throughout Oak Hill and surrounding service areas.
Mark Via serves as Chief Operator of one of the City’s two wastewater collection plants. He operates out of the Minden Plant alongside James Ellison, Plant Technician, and collection crew members Joe Lafferty and John Lafferty. The Minden Plant handles approximately 0.750 million gallons per day (MGD).
Butch Whitmore oversees operations at the Route 61 Plant, with James Colaiseno serving as Pump Station Technician. The Route 61 Plant handles approximately 0.300 million gallons per day (MGD).
At this time, there are 10 pump stations operating within the Route 61 service area that support wastewater collection and system flow.
